No shit Vince!

Vince Cable: Banks continue to rip customers off

Britain's banks are "ripping off" their customers, Business Secretary Vince Cable has told the BBC.

Wow, at last our Business Secretary has noticed what we the public knew all along..... the question is: What are you going to do about it Vince?

Is this the end of cheap ferry / coach travel?

New rights for ferry and maritime passengers expected

Passengers travelling by sea are expected to win new compensation rights if their journey is delayed or cancelled.

This is good in theory but not sure if the result of this will be good...isn't ferry (and coach) travel cheaper than travelling by Eurostar or airplane in order to attract those of us who cannot afford to fly?

With these new regulations imposed on struggling ferry companies who have to contend with an unpredictable English Channel, how will that affect future cross-Channel travel prices? Or will passengers simply foot the bill with an increase in ferry travel, which in turn will raise the cost of coach travel....? And if ferry / coach travel suffers a blow, surely as more people fly, this will be bad for the environment....
